I'm a fairly frugal person. My family will laugh at that as the understatement of the year. As my mother says - "squeek, squeek". My point is that I was comfortable in my assumption that I had done my Insurance homework and was getting the best deal I could on home insurance. No particular reason for thinking that, just smug complacency really.
The other day I actually looked at my insurance documents. After a few minutes on the phone, I had made significantly more in insurance cost savings than I make per hour at my job. That's a significant savings, or more accurately, a significant amount of money I was wasting everything month.
So, it's worth checking your paperwork. I called about collision on my car insurance another time and the savings I would have realized didn't justify taking collision off just yet. But at least I know.
